TEHRAN – Iran has threatened to block oil exports passing through the Persian Gulf if the United States tries to prevent Iranian crude oil shipments.
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, in a televised speech from northern city of Shahroud on Tuesday, said that Iran will continue to sell its oil and the United States will not succeed in cutting Iran’s economic ties with the region and the world.
Tensions have risen between Iran and the United States after U.S. President Donald Trump withdrew from the multilateral nuclear deal in May and re-imposed sanctions on Iran.
