KARACHI – In a thrilling final of 3rd Hakim Mohammed Said (Shaheed-e-Pakistan) Interdepartmental Tape Ball Cricket Night Tournament, Hamdard Foundation Jaguars defeated Marketing Division Tigers by 9 wickets yesterday at UBL Sports Complex.
Teams of eight different divisions participated in 5-overs limited cricket tournament organized by Hamdard Pakistan to welcome 6th Pakistan Super League (PSL). Fatema Munir Ahmed Managing Director and CEO Hamdard Pakistan graced the occasion as chief guest. Deputy Director Marketing Division and captain Shaharyar Pasha was named as player of the tournament and best bowler of the tournament.
In the final, Foundation won the toss and elected to bowl. Marketing & Trade while batting first scored 73 for the loss of one wicket in allotted six overs. Shaharyar Pasha scored unbeaten 32 runs. Foundation successfully chased the target because of exceptional display of strokes by Shababul Hassan, who scored 41 runs. Vice captain Muhammad Arsalan scored valuable 14 runs.
Earlier in first semi final, Foundation beat HR & Admin Stallions comprehensively. Batting first HR & Admin managed to put up a total of 48/3 in five overs. Foundation easily chased the score in 4th over with the loss of four wickets.
In second semi final, HIC Falcons gave a target of 46/5. The unbeaten team of the tournament – Marketing & Trade continued to display fantastic stroke play and fast paced bowling on the back of all-round performance of Shaharyar Pasha who not only scored but also took wickets in every match. Marketing & Trade successfully chased the score without losing any wicket.
Teams of Accounts & Finance Lions, QoD Dolphins, Supply Chain Panthers and IT Eagles failed to reach to the knockout round. Fatema Munir Ahmed gave trophies to winning and runners up teams. Shababul Hassan was named man of the match.
Event was organized by Hamdard Pakistan and made all arrangements to make this event a memorable one. Event was attended by Hamdard employees and their families.
