A delegation of students from Greenwich University visited the Press Information Department in Karachi today. The students from Mass Communication had an interactive session with DG (Incharge) Mohammad Khalid Mairaj Abbasi and other officers. The delegation was headed by university teacher, Madam Tahira Sayyad.
The discussion revolved around the functioning of PID, specially publicity and advertisement-related matters. They were informed about the practical work as per advertisement policy 2021 (as amended in 2022). PID officers also gave awareness to the students about the strong liaison and coordination of the department with state and private media for the timely dissemination of news related to the Federal Government, Federal Ministers, and Officials.
Students were interested in understanding the functioning of PID and the department’s skillfulness in facilitating print media. Delegation members were inquisitive about media laws, rules and regulations, and the media code of conduct. They were also given details on the process of securing a declaration for the newspaper.
The students reaffirmed that after completion of their academic journey, they will become responsible journalists and serve Pakistan through their professionalism.
