Kandiaro, Naushahro Feroze – The government has directed deductions from salaries and pensions of government employees and retired teachers in an effort to recover funds allegedly misused under the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP).
According to a notification issued by the District Education Officer, Naushahro Feroze, a total of 173 serving and retired Education Department employees will face monthly deductions until the recovered amounts are cleared.
As per the order:
- Employees in BPS-1 to BPS-10 will have Rs. 3,000 deducted each month.
- Employees in BPS-11 to BPS-16 will face Rs. 5,000 in monthly deductions.
- Employees in BPS-17 to BPS-20 will see Rs. 10,000 deducted monthly.
The notification further instructs the District Accounts Officer, Taluka Education Officers, and institutional heads to ensure strict implementation of the decision.
Officials stated that the move is aimed at recovering amounts that were wrongly received by the families of ineligible employees under BISP. However, the decision has drawn concern among some staff members, who argue that they are being unfairly penalized for benefits collected by their dependents.
