Govt announced unprecedented incentive package for construction sector: PM

ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan says the government has announced unprecedented incentive package for construction sector to give impetus to economic process and promote various industries linked to this sector.

He was chairing a meeting of the National Coordination Committee for Housing, Construction, and Development in Islamabad on Thursday.

The Prime Minister said the package will also help materialize the dream of people with low income to have a house of their own.

He said the government is determined to simplify the system in this regard so that maximum people can benefit from this scheme.

Imran Khan directed all chief secretaries to present an action plan by next week to introduce an online system regarding the construction sector.

The Prime Minister instructed to utilize information technology at all levels in the construction sector to expedite and simplify the system.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that Gwadar Port will become a guarantor of development and prosperity in view of its strategic importance.

Chairing a review meeting on the Ministry of Maritime Affairs in Islamabad on Thursday, he directed to ensure early completion of projects related to Gwadar port.

The Prime Minister said priority should be given to those projects that would bring employment, regional development and profit.

Briefing the meeting about implementation of the proposed roadmap of “Blue Economy”, Minister for Maritime Affairs said the present government is formulating a roadmap for development of this sector.
