KARACHI: Ambassador at Large for Global Peace & Human Rights, and Chairman Interfaith Commission for Peace & Harmony (ICPH) Imam Allama Muhammad Ahsan Siddiqui, Sunday expressed his profound grief over the Greece boat disaster that left scores dead. He said that there were no words for this. No women and children survived.
This is the worst boat disaster that has happened near Greece. The boat carried more than 700 men, women, and children including a large number of Pakistanis, many from Kotli AJK. The boat capsized and the Greek authorities did little to help. He said that 100 bodies recovered so far 100 people rescued and the rest are presumed dead.
The Chairman ICPH , Human Rights Ambassador Allama Ahsan Siddiqui said that’s the Greek authorities must give explanation of why this happened and why were the people not helped in time?
The Global peace and human Rights ambassador Allama Ahsan Siddiqui extended his heartfelt condolences sympathies, thoughts and prayers are with the victims bereaved families of the people of Pakistan and Azad Kashmir who lost their loved ones in the unfortunate ferry disaster (tragic accident) in the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Greece. The loss of this fishing boat and up to 500 lives is a terrible tragedy.
Ambassador at Large for Global Peace & Human Rights, Sectary General Albaraka Welfare Trust International and Chairman Interfaith Commission for Peace & Harmony (ICPH) Imam Allama Muhammad Ahsan Siddiqui, requested to the officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of Pakistan in Greece to take effective measures to bring back the remains of the deceased.
Ambassador Allama Ahsan Siddiqui said that the youth fall into the trap of human traffickers, which ends in a very terrible and serious way. Pakistan must crackdown on human smuggling networks that operate with the support of rotten eggs and other agencies. He demand to Government of Pakistan must take necessary steps immediately to stop this illegal practice. The issue of human trafficking (illegal migration) is causing tragedies every day and yet governamebt of Pakistan is not giving it any priority.
