Houston, TX, USA: Last Saturday, A wonderful fundraising event was organized for the third Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centres (SKMCH&RC) to be built in Karachi, a Sister City of our great city of Houston.
Once again S. Javaid Anwar Chief Patron Houston Karachi Sister City Association (HKSCA) donated $69,000/- which makes the total amount raised at the event by over $400,000.00. Hon. Consul General Abrar H Hashmi, Fort Bend County Judge K. P. George, and 300 plus guests were in attendance.

Construction work for the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, Karachi is underway at full pace and the project is expected to be commissioned at a total cost of Rs. 16.4 billion. The structural work on the lower ground, ground, and first floor is close to completion. The lower ground floor will house the clinical and radiation oncology department, which has ten bunkers for radiation machines, and the department of nuclear medicine. The radiology department, the outpatient clinics, the emergency assessment unit, pharmacy, and cafeteria will be located on the ground floor and the first floor will house the chemotherapy bays, the bone marrow transplant unit, the endoscopy unit, the pathology lab, and the blood bank.
