Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari called on President of Iran Ayatollah Ibrahim Raeesi.
According to a statement issued by the Foreign Office, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto conveyed the congratulatory message of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif to the Iranian President.
The Foreign Minister invited the Iranian President to visit Pakistan on behalf of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
Bilawal Bhutto said that he wanted to further strengthen bilateral relations with Iran. He also called for enhancing bilateral cooperation in the economic and energy sectors.
He said that regional connectivity, continuity of contacts is important for activating border trade.
Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto also raised the issue of release of Pakistani prisoners in Iranian jails.
On the occasion, the Iranian President said that Pakistan and Iran have historical ties and strong fraternal ties.
President Ibrahim Raisi said that Iran attaches great importance to its economic and trade relations with Pakistan.
