KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Energy Mr. Imtiaz Ahmad Shaikh has said that Federal ministers have made lies and misrepresentations their tradition, stoves have become cold, due to raising inflation and unemployment the poor man cannot afford to buy a bread, private power companies, industries and CNG sectors have lost thousands of jobs due to gas crises.
In response to the statement of Federal Minister for Energy Hamad Azhar, Imtiaz Sheikh said that since the federal government came into power, the country has been suffering from severe energy crisis; federal ministers are lying to the nation about the purchase of LNG and gas terminal. In the months of March and April, cheap LNG was available for November-December, but due to delayed tenders, the most expensive LNG deals in the history of the country have been done, despite expensive LNG deals, foreign companies are canceling orders from Pakistan.
Imtiaz Shaikh said that according to the Federal Minister, there are 28% domestic gas consumers in the country, the Minister is expressing his own failure in his statement, meanwhile the Federal Minister has claimed that there is no gas crisis in the country and gas demand is increasing.
Imtiaz Shaikh said that the justification being offered by the federal ministers to cover up their incompetence and failures is unacceptable. He said that cut of gas to private power companies would increase electric load shedding in coming days.
Imtiaz Shaikh said that in the history of the country, the nation has never faced as many crises as it is facing in the present federal government.
Meanwhile, Energy Minister Imtiaz Shaikh termed the proposal of increase in electricity prices as hostile to the people and said that NEPRA should immediately freeze the rising price of electricity; the decision to increase immediately would be a cruel move.
