An investigation is underway following a fatal crash between two semis in western Minnesota over the weekend. The incident occurred shortly after 10:30 p.m. on Sunday on Highway 75 near 180th Street in Hamlin Township, Lac qui Parle County.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the crash involved a Peterbilt semi attempting to enter Highway 75 and an International semi traveling southbound on the highway. The collision occurred at an intersection, though specific details of the accident are still under investigation.
The drivers of the two semis have been identified as a 48-year-old man from Lake Benton, Minnesota, and a 68-year-old man from Gary, South Dakota. Authorities have not yet released information regarding the number of fatalities or the extent of injuries sustained in the crash.
