Salman Khan is an Indian Actor, film producer, television presenter, a singer and also a dedicated/renowned bodybuilder who was born on December 27, 1965 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India. His father Salim Khan is a screen writer and mother is Sushila Charak also known as Salma. His father is a Muslim and mother belongs to Hindu community. The children’s relation grew hostile with their father because of their parent’s divorce in 1980.
His grandparents were Alakozai Pashtuns from Afghanistan. His grandfather Abdul Rashid was a Deputy Inspector General of the Indore state and was awarded Diler Jung award of the Holkar times. His mother is a homemaker and her father Baldev Singh Charak from Jammu in Jammu and Kashmir. Except Hindi and English, Salman can speak Marathi as well.
He has two brothers, Arbaaz Khan and Sohail Khan; and two sisters, Alvira Khan Agnihotri and Arpita Khan. Alvira Khan Agnihotri is married to actor/director Atul Agnihotri.
He began his acting career with a supporting role in Biwi Ho To Aisi in 1988, then a leading role in Mine Pyaar Kiya in 1989. He continued his career in Bollywood in 1990s, like Hum Aapky Hain Kon in 1994, Andaz Apna Apna in 1994, Karan Arjun in 1995, Biwi No.1 in 1999, and Hum Saath-Saath Hain in 1999. After a long break, he achieved greater stardom in the 2010s by playing the lead role in successful action films like Dabangg in 2010, Ready in 2011, Bodyguard in 2011, Ek Tha Tiger in 2012, Kick in 2014, Bajrangi Bhaijaan in 2015, Sultan in 2016, Tiger Zinda Hai in 2017, Radhe in 2021 and many more.
Salman is currently living in Galaxy Apartments in Bandra, Mumbai, India and he is also having a 150-acre plot in Panvel having 3 bungalows, a swimming pool and a gym.
Salman Khan has never been married. He started dating Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai in 1999 and broke up in 2001. The he dated Katrina Kaif and after years Katrina in an interview in 2011 admitted that she was been in a serious relationship with Salman Khan from several years but it ended up in 2010. From Aishwarya and Katrina, public loved his couple with Katrina and wished them to be married but unfortunately Katrina is marrying Indian film actor Vicky Kaushal.
Salman is suffering with a facial nerve disorder trigeminal neuralgia which is commonly known as “suicide disease”. He said that he is suffering from this disease from last seven years quietly but now the pain has become unbearable.
He is identified as both Muslim and Hindu commenting that, “I’m Hindu and Muslim both. I am an Indian and further explained, “My father is Muslim and my mother is Hindu”.
