In the seminar about ” Food Standards: Save Life’s” organized from Pakistan Society for Microbiology during the 15 Consumer Food and Safety Conference, which was held at Convention Centre, Dream World Resort, Karachi.


Prof. Dr. Shahana Urooj Kazmi (CNCD), Mr. Kaukab Iqbal (CAP), Prof. Dr. Rafique Khanani (BAQAI), Dr. Mahmood’s Kazmi (JUW), Dr. Muhammad Nadeem (PCSIR), Dr. Zafar Alam (CANADA), Dr. Syeda Sadaf Akber (PSM), Dr. Jaweria Alam (UFO), Dr. Jawad (NED), Dr. Tasneem Kausar, Mr. Jahanzaib highlighted the critical role of food standards in ensuring public health and promoting safe trade practices.
The seminar brought together experts, policymakers, and partners from various sectors to discuss the significance of food standards in protecting consumers and fostering sustainable food systems.
By adhering to globally recommended food standards, we can ensure the safety of food, and safeguard the well-being of individuals and communities, while also contributing to the sustainable development of our societies.
The conference served as an opportunity to deepen the participants’ understanding of the importance of food safety and the role of all involved sectors.
The conference also recognized outstanding contributions to food safety and honoured individuals and organizations for their remarkable achievements in this field.
Faculty members and students from Jinnah University For Women, NED University of Engineering and Technology, COTHM, and Sindh Agriculture University – Tando Jam enthusiastically participated in the seminar.


Food safety standards protect the lives of all, and the livelihoods of many. They establish the criteria which food should meet to protect consumers and establish confidence in the product.
It is high time that all stakeholders should work on the same page to achieve the goal of a healthy society.
