Pakistan: Former President and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General (R) Pervez Musharraf passed away in Dubai at the age of 79 after a long illness.
The family of the Former COAS has said that Pervez Musharraf died in the early morning in the hospital in Dubai.
According to the media, the former president was undergoing treatment at a hospital in Dubai. General (R) Pervez Musharraf was undergoing treatment at the American Hospital in Dubai for a long time.
The family of former President General Retired Pervez Musharraf has applied to the Dubai Consulate to take the dead body to Pakistan.
The family said that “Pervez Musharraf will be laid to rest in Karachi.”
According to the media, the plane from Pakistan will reach Dubai tomorrow morning to take the dead body of Pervez Musharraf. The special plane will arrive at Dubai’s Al Maktoum International Airport from PAF Nur Khan Air Base.
Meanwhile, former President General Retired Pervez Musharraf’s mother is buried in Dubai and his father is buried in Karachi.

Former President and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General (R) Pervez Musharraf was born on 11 August 1943 in Delhi and studied at St. Patrick’s High School in Karachi.
Later, Gen. (R) Pervez Musharraf studied at FC College Lahore and was commissioned into the Pakistan Army in 1961.
Pervez graduated from Command and Staff College Quetta. He also did courses from the Royal College of Defence Studies, UK.
Later, Former COAS joined the Special Services Group (SSP). He participated in the wars of 1965 and 1971.
The former President assumed the post of Chief of Army Staff on October 7, 1998. Pervez Musharraf is known as the protagonist of the Kargil operation.
