Karachi: Ambassador Dr. Jemal Beker Abdula has just inaugurated the Honorary Consulate of Ethiopia in Karachi, marking a significant step in strengthening the warm and growing relationship between Ethiopia and Pakistan. At the ceremony, Dr. Beker, who is Ethiopia’s Special Envoy and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Pakistan, expressed his congratulations to H.E. Ibrahim Tawab, the newly appointed Honorary Consul, on both his new role and the official opening of the consulate.
Dr. Beker highlighted Karachi’s role as both a bustling business hub and a cultural center, noting that the new consulate will greatly enhance bilateral trade and deepen people-to-people connections between the two nations. He also pointed out the important milestones Ethiopia has reached in recent years, including establishing its mission in Islamabad in 2022 and launching Ethiopian Airlines in 2023.
On this special occasion, Ibrahim Tawab shared his enthusiasm for the vast business, trade, and investment opportunities in Ethiopia. He also praised Dr. Beker’s forward-thinking approach to fostering stronger trade ties between Pakistan and Africa, reflecting a shared vision for deeper collaboration and mutual growth.
