KARACHI – The Employers’ Federation of Pakistan organized a virtual seminar in collaboration with The Association for Overseas Technical Cooperation and Sustainable Partnerships (AOTS) Japan on Work Environment Improvement and Occupational Safety from 26th – 27th October 2020, Karachi. Ms. Etsuko Yoshikawa, a prominent health and safety expert from the Red Cross College of Nursing in Japan, conducted the two-day event on Work Environment Improvement and OSH Management virtually from Tokyo. Eiji Teshima of AOTS conducted the program from the AOTS office in Tokyo.

The signature annual event was attended by delegates representing 40 member organizations that willingly joined hands to lead the charge in the dissemination of knowledge in the field of OSH management acquired from the program. In recent times, there have been huge losses due to major fires in industries in the seven industrial estates of Karachi. Therefore, there is an imperative need to sensitize industries to focus and structure a OSH system in their working environment.

Zaki Ahmed Khan, Vice President of EFP said that the program was originally designed from the perspective of employers to provide them with the tools to hone their knowledge of OSH management in mitigating challenges at the workplace. He emphasized the need to constantly apply concepts and methodology acquired from lectures and workshops of the program.

Majyd Aziz, Former President of EFP and Founder Chairman, EFP-AOTS Alumni Society, thanked the expert and AOTS for their efforts in assisting EFP to organize this excellent training program. He added that EFP looks forward to hosting more such seminars with AOTS in near future.
