Karachi (Staff Reporter): Due to the increasing cold in Karachi, the difficulties of school going children have also increased. To protect the children from the cold, Saraiki Women Association distributed jackets, caps, socks in the government school of Manghopir Noorani Hotel.
Around 500 children are studying in Government Boys Primary School located at Noorani Hotel Gul Mohammad Goth Lahru-II, Manghopir area. Chairperson Saraiki Women’s Association Karam Akhtar reached the school with warm jackets, caps and socks for the children.
On this occasion, senior journalist anchorperson Akhtar Shaheen Rind, well-known political and social figure of the area, independent candidate for provincial assembly Abdul Latif Rind, legal advisor Aslam Khan Rind advocate, President Noorani Welfare Committee Mushtaq Ahmad, secretary Shahbaz Khan Daher, journalist Ahsan Jatoi, activists Saraiki Women Association Tehmina Aslam, Sajida Shehbaz, Principal Government Boys Primary School Ghulam Murtaza, campus in-charge of Al Khair Welfare Safia Zaidi, teacher Aslam, Shahid, Mubin Akhtar Rind, Shahnawaz Daher, Rabnawaz Daher, Sajjad Daher, Ayaz Jamali and others were also present.
Karam Akhtar and other guests distributed warm clothes among the children. The joy of the children on this occasion was palpable.
Karam Akhtar said that the Saraiki Women Association has been doing social services for the last two years. Gifts were distributed to school children last year as well, including aid to the flood victims.
Abdul Latif Rind and the Principal accompanied Karam Akhtar and other guests to visit class rooms. Karam Akhtar spoke to the children and expressed happiness over the quality of education and better cleanliness arrangements.
The guests were told that this government school is a great blessing for the poor children in the area which is being run with the support of Al Khair Welfare. Apart from more rooms, desks, chairs and other equipment according to the number of children, the children also urgently need new uniforms.
Chairperson Saraiki Women’s Association Karam Akhtar appreciated the efforts of Abdul Latif Rind and teachers and management for keeping the school functional and providing excellent facilities. She said that she will continue her efforts for the convenience of the children and the improvement of the school.
