KARACHI: Director General ANF Mr. Major General Muhammad Aneeq Ur Rehman Malik, HI (M) Drug use is the most serious contemporary challenge which is culturally alien to our society but accelerating on unprecedented scale. In the name of modernity and embedded cultural superficiality, segments of our society are falling prey to the menace of drugs. New forms of transnational organized crimes are other areas of concern. I take pride in informing that within the broad spectrum of Harm Minimisation to Zero Tolerance against drugs, ANF campaign plan envisages several initiatives and operations, while confirming international drug policy commitments. He stated that through undeterred resolve, commitment and resilience, ANF has achieved unprecedented success in the past and I am confident that ANF will continue its fight against drugs with extreme professionalism.
Mr. Ambassador at Large for Global Peace & Human Rights, Chairman Interfaith Commission for Peace & Harmony (ICPH) Imam Allama Muhammad Ahsan Siddiqui said that drugs-free Pakistan was guarantor of bright future of coming generations. He expressed these views during a ceremony related to ANF Goodwill Ambassadors, “One Nation, One Destination, Drug Free Pakistan” under auspices of Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) here on Saturday. The session was chaired by Director General ANF Major General Muhammad Aneeq Ur Rehman Malik, HI (M) at DHA Suffa University Karachi. “One Pill Can Kill” was the special message given for students in educational institutes.




Imam Allama Muhammad Ahsan Siddiqui stated that the poison of drugs is eating into the vitals of our society. Our youth is getting their lives destroyed because of the drugs addiction of various types. Their actions also bring the families into disrepute and cause them shame in society. He said that in addition to enabling the youth to get rid of the addiction, it is important to engage them in positive activities. He said the youth was Pakistan’s greatest asset, which constituted 70pc of the population. They are our future and we have to protect them from the harms of drug addiction. ICPH is aware of the dangers that drugs pose and is prepared to become part of the efforts for a drug-free Pakistan. Interfaith Commission for Peace & Harmony (ICPH) and Albaraka Trust International to play again its role in a drug-free Pakistan. He also stressed the need to create maximum awareness about havoc played by drugs in the society.
Brigadier Syed Vaqar Haider Rizvi, Force Commander Anti Narcotics Force Sindh said that Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) and law enforcement agencies have an important role in drug control, he also urged parents to keep an eye on their children to check their routine activities. Protecting the country’s youth and the future generation from the menace was inevitable for the prosperous future of Pakistan, he said, adding to protect our youth the ANF was working tirelessly in coordination with other law enforcement agencies. Lt. Col Anwar Hussain, a representative from Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) also spoke and shared performance of the department for elimination of menace of drugs from the society.




Ambassador Imam Allama Muhammad Ahsan Siddiqui said that the main purpose of this session is to explore the ways, how Pakistani Celebrities can be used more effectively to prevent substance abuse, especially among preteens and adolescents. The religious leaders have come to play an increasingly important role in public campaigns due to its wide reach and ability to influence behavior. ICPH has contributed the last 15 years to positive development like in the fight against polio, violent extremism, HIV / Aids, gender bias, poverty, sectarianism and racism.
On this occasion, Pakistani singer Shehzad Roy, Former Olympian Salahuddin, Founder Phool Patti Ali Salman Anchan (Truck Art), Pakistani Sikh Council chief Ramesh Singh Khalsa, Allama Muhsin Naqvi, Elizabeth Morris Christian, Chairperson She Foundation and renowned personalities from all walks of life many others also spoke and stated that the curse of drugs destroyed many homes.
