Karachi – Mr. Mohammad Sohail Rajput (PAS), Ex-Chief Secretary Government of Sindh After assuming the charge of the Secretary Board of Investment visited the Board of Investment Regional office Karachi for an interaction meeting with Officers/Officials of BOI IFC Karachi on 11.09.2023. The Secretary Board of Investment was briefed about the role of BOI IFC Karachi and its achievements since last year.
Secretary BOI was briefed that Karachi is the commercial hub of business opportunities in Pakistan. Hence, the role of BOI IFC Karachi is very important to attract FDI and to attract investors to invest their capital in different sectors of the economy. He further emphasized that BOI IFC Karachi may increase their efforts to resolve investor’s grievances in Karachi and provide them with a conducive environment to attract investment in the country. The Secretary Board of Investment directed that weekly and monthly meetings may be arranged with different stakeholders to point out the issues of investors, with instruction to work with due diligence to achieve KPIs in the field of trade and investment and focus on “BE READY PROJECT” in Sindh province to fulfill the international commitment of Ease of Doing Business.
Dr. Mohammad Sohail Rajput said that there is a huge potential in Dhabjee Special Economic Zone for attracting FDI in the country. He directed BOI IFC, Karachi to increase liaison with the private sector of Karachi and the Business community of Karachi like KCCI, FPCCI, OICCI, and KATI. He said that BOI IFC Karachi can play a vital role in bridging the gap between BOI Headquarters and the Business community of Karachi.
