Dr. Faisal Ahmed is a Psychiatrist, sub-specialized in child and adolescent psychiatry. He completed his general psychiatry residency training at the University of Missouri Columbia program and child & adolescent psychiatry fellowship at the same institution. He is diplomat of American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr Ahmed has worked with world renowned researchers such as Dr Barry Reisburg, Dr Jean p Lindenmeyer, and Dr Arshad Husain in the field of Psychiatry. Dr. Ahmed has worked in various mental health settings including outpatient, inpatient, and consultation liaison services in the past.
Dr. Faisal Ahmed has special interest and training in Neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism, ADHD, and Psychopharmacology. Dr Ahmed has been actively engaged in teaching and has been teaching students and residents at Lutheran General Psychiatry Residency Training Program in Chicago, Advocate Medical Center Family medicine Residency training program in Bloomington IL, and was an official preceptor for ATSU-KCOM the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr Ahmed currently serves as staff psychiatrist at Sutter Center for Psychiatry. In addition to his own private practice he also provides consultation liaison services.
