Karachi: Dow University of Health Sciences observed a Black Day, expressing solidarity with the Kashmiris on the completion of 76 years of Indian control over Kashmir. The event took place from Dow Medical College’s Court Yard to Arag Auditorium, where the Registrar of the University, Dr. Ashar Afaq, Principal of Dow Medical College, Professor Saba Sohail, Vice Principal Shumaila Khalid, along with other faculty members, students, and staff participated in large numbers. During the event, students chanted enthusiastic slogans, including “Kashmir Banega Pakistan,” “Pakistan Zindabad,” “Down with Indian Occupation,” “Pakistan ka Matlab Kya? La Ilaha Illallah,” and others.


Dr. Ashar Afaq, the Registrar of Dow University, stated that Pakistan observes Black Day every year on October 27 to renew its moral, political, and diplomatic support for the people of Kashmir. As long as Kashmir remains under Indian control, the Pakistani nation will stand by its stance. He emphasized that Black Day for Kashmir will be remembered as a dark chapter in human history. He also mentioned that the hearts of Pakistanis beat with Kashmiris, and they are committed to the cause of Kashmir.
During the event, students expressed their emotions and called for an end to the ongoing atrocities in Kashmir and Palestine, urging the United Nations to take note of the human rights violations in both regions. India has been oppressing Kashmir, while Israel has committed humanitarian atrocities in Palestine.
