Karachi, November 18, 2025 : Social entrepreneur, digital marketer, and e-commerce expert Hunaen Zia has stated that Pakistan’s e-commerce and freelancing sectors are growing rapidly, contributing significantly to the country’s foreign exchange reserves and creating new employment opportunities for the youth.
According to Hunaen Zia, recent data indicates that Pakistan’s e-commerce sector generated nearly USD 8 billion in 2024, while freelancing contributed an additional USD 4.6 billion to the economy. She added that the e-commerce market is expected to surpass USD 10 billion by 2025, reflecting strong momentum in the country’s digital economy.
He highlighted that the rise of online shopping, digital payment systems, and technology-driven business models has strengthened business confidence, making entrepreneurship more accessible and encouraging both domestic and foreign investment.
Hunaen Zia further noted that Pakistan’s IT exports and freelancing services have earned global recognition, as demand for Pakistani professionals continues to grow worldwide.
He urged the government and relevant authorities to introduce more supportive policies and infrastructure for digital entrepreneurs and freelancers, enabling them to access international markets directly. With the right strategic planning, Pakistan can emerge as a regional leader in digital trade.
