RAWALPINDI – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Wednesday declared the opening of Kartarpur corridor an important step forward towards peace.
In a Twitter message, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Major General Asif Ghafoor said that the COAS attended Kartarpura Corridor ceremony and termed it a step towards peace which our region needs.
The ISPR DG quoted Gen Qamar Bajwa as saying: “Barbed wire at borders is measure by a sovereign state to check/deny illegal crossings. Corridors & Gates are for legal peaceful visitors.

Military spokesman Major General Asif Ghafoor tweeted, Indian media taking a myopic view is selectively showing Mr Gopal Chawla meeting COAS.
He said, Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa met all guests at the venue irrespective of identity.
The spokesman said, A peace initiative should not be subjected to propaganda. (01)
