Karachi: 02 November, 2023 – The leading Home-Appliances manufacturers of Pakistan – Dawlance
has partnered with OICCI ‘Overseas Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Industry’ (OICCI) in Karachi for
the ‘Pakistan Climate Conference 2023’. Dawlance has been partnering for this prestigious annual forum
regularly, to contribute towards preventing climate change. This vision for environmental sustainability is
inspired by Dawlance’s parent company ‘Arcelik’ – the 2nd largest manufacturer in Europe and a global
leader in innovative technologies. Since Arcelik is working toward a “well below 2°C” scenario in line
with the Paris Agreement of science-based target Net Zero
The annual ‘Pakistan Climate Conference’ is orchestrated to engage many resourceful organizations and
stakeholders in a dialogue, to mitigate climate change, while also creating awareness among the masses.
A long-term action plan has been devised through this initiative, to help Pakistan meet its ecological
commitments as per the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). This framework has
also enabled Dawlance to implement best practices to meet global climatic targets. Dawlance has
developed many technologies that ensure energy conservation and water saving during the manufacturing
processes.
Over the years, the renowned experts at this insightful forum have provided socially responsible corporate
enterprises with regulatory guidelines for accelerating socio-economic growth, while keeping the planet
safe and healthy for future generations. Thus, OICCI member companies are ensuring compliance with
protective policies to avert the industries’ impact on climate. Many sustainable technologies like energy

The keynote themes at the OICCI Climate Conference 2023 included: Climate Resilience and capacity-
building in vulnerable communities. It suggested various solutions for plastic and waste management

Carbon credits agenda was suggested, along with an ‘Environmental, Social & Governance’ (ESG)
reporting framework.

to highly sustainable enterprises, for driving innovation, leadership and sustainability within their
industry. It is an institution for ranking the 100 most sustainable corporations in the world.
