Tons of waste products are created by the human race on daily basis. If these wastes are not disposed-off properly, it causes detrimental effects on the environment and harms human health. These views were expressed by Dr. Ambreen Bilal along with Prof. Dr. Zamin Ali Khan during the MoU signing ceremony between the TRE Recycle and Iqra University North Campus.
She said that creating a clean and green society should be one of our top priorities. In order to achieve this, we should base our goals on a zero waste policy, aligning ourselves with environmental friendly nations and UNs Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 13). We need to focus more on educating the masses with proper recycling and waste management systems. Dr. Ambreen Bilal said that whatever waste we produce contains by-products which are alarmingly harmful for us as well as for our future generations. She emphasized on the importance of recycling as it will help us to increase raw materials, and save time and money. We should recycle the waste products in novelties and decorative items, helping the labour market by creating entrepreneurs.
Iqra University has always been very ambitious in helping to reduce global warming, taking green initiatives, and building green facilities. This MoU is another step of Iqra University toward building a happy, healthy, and green society for the current and future generations. Dr. Shazia Dawood, Dr. Alisha Noreen, and Dr. Ziyad Farqan were also present on this occasion.
