Karachi: Convener of CPEC Planning Development Committee ABAD Mahmood Ahmad Khan has said that CPEC has an important role in the development of Pakistan and Gwadar. China has always supported us and forefront to help Pakistan even in the economic crisis. He expressed these views in an interview.
Mehmood Ahmad Khan said that China’s investment in Gwadar or Pakistan is 25.4 billion dollars. The Prime Minister himself visited Gwadar in the past few days, Army Chief, Naval Chief, and Federal Ministers were also there. He said that now it seems that the CPEC issues which were cold are now gaining momentum.
He said that the first phase of CPEC is over now we have entered the second phase. He said that 6 agreements have been signed on the occasion of the Chinese Deputy Prime Minister’s visit to Pakistan, these are all the things that we can see that now Gwadar and CPEC will improve.
He said that we belong to the construction industry, and there are many of our builder colleagues. Balochistan government has approved the SOD, I appeal that the federal government also approves the SOD.
He said that if we want to achieve the development of Gwadar and CPEC, then we have to fulfill all the promises we have made to the Chinese.
He said that the government has taken a very good step, which is the 10th-anniversary ceremony. Inviting the Chinese to this is very welcome, the Chinese want to invest more in Pakistan. For this, it is important from our side that we also extend our hands. In the 10th-year celebration of CPEC, China proved that it stands behind us, this is a real success.
He said that Gwadar Airport will become operational in one or two months. A university and a refinery are also being built in Gwadar. He said that I think everyone can fix this Pakistan only together. He said that if Gwadar rises, then the whole of Pakistan will rise. At this time, it is also necessary that Pakistanis fulfill the terms and conditions of CPEC. If we delay, then problems will arise.
