KARACHI – A meeting of the think-tank, recently constituted under the directions of Prime Minister, to deliberate on the Coronavirus-related economic crisis and mitigation of ensuing risks was held in Islamabad with Advisor to Prime Minister on Finance and Revenue, Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh in the chair.
The forum discussed ways and means to strengthen aggregate demand and supply of the economy with emphasis on lower income-class and small firms.
Speaking on the occasion, the participants highlighted the need for further revision in policy rate coupled with passing on the benefits of slashed oil prices in global market to public.
They also discussed progress on ongoing cash disbursements to poor deserving families under Ehsas Emergency Cash Program.
