Islamabad High Court acquitted Muslim League leader Maryam Nawaz in Avenfield reference.
The Islamabad High Court accepted Maryam Nawaz’s appeal in the Avenfield reference and annulled her 7-year prison sentence.
The Islamabad High Court also annulled the one-year imprisonment sentence of retired Captain Safdar.
Islamabad High Court heard the appeals against the conviction of Maryam Nawaz and her husband Captain (retd) Safdar in the Avenfield reference.
Justice Amir Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani of the Supreme Court held the hearing.
PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz appeared in Islamabad High Court.
NAB Prosecutor Usmanji Rashid Cheema did not appear in the court today due to ill health, NAB Deputy Prosecutor General Sardar Muzaffar Abbasi completed the arguments in his place.
It should be remembered that before the general elections in July 2018, the accountability court had sentenced Maryam Nawaz to 7 years and Captain Safdar to one year while PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
