The participants of the meeting demanded of the Government of Sindh, the IGP Sindh Police, and all relevant security agencies to take immediate and serious notice of the situation and take effective measures to prevent any interference in the ongoing official construction work.
In a Press statement issued after the meeting, Karachi Editors Club President Mubashir Mir, Secretary General Syed Manzar Naqvi, and other office-bearers said that although it has been 12 days since the FIR was registered regarding the armed and violent attack on the holy Shrine of Masooma-e-Sindh located in Agham Kot, District Badin, the staff of Gulab Laghari Police Station in District Badin has made no effort to investigate this case of important and sensitive nature. This indicates that the police personnel at Gulab Laghari Police Station are trying their utmost to protect the individuals named in the FIR.
The statement further added that when no action has been taken even after 12 days, there are serious concerns that attempts may be made to sabotage the case during the investigation. Therefore, we urge the IGP Sindh Police and all concerned security agencies to take immediate and serious notice of this sensitive matter and to transfer the investigation from Gulab Laghari Police Station to another police station and assign it to a neutral police officer, they added.
