LAHORE – Good news for students awaiting laptops under the CM Punjab Laptop Scheme 2025: the date for the distribution ceremony has been officially announced.
The first phase of the initiative will kick off with a special ceremony on April 30, 2025, where 7,000 laptops will be distributed among selected students from various institutions. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is expected to grace the event with her presence.
To ensure transparency, the Higher Education Department recently partnered with the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) to carry out biometric verification of applicants. NADRA began providing these verification services at its e-Sahulat Centers starting April 24, with the cost covered by the Higher Education Commission (HEC). Institutions have been instructed to complete the verification process promptly.
According to the official portal, 93,441 students from public universities across Punjab have submitted applications for the scheme.
Under the CM Punjab Laptop Scheme 2025, the government plans to distribute 110,000 state-of-the-art laptops free of cost to eligible students enrolled in BS (1st and 2nd Semester) programs at public sector colleges, universities, and medical and dental colleges. Students from private institutions are not eligible.
The initiative is designed to promote educational advancement, digital access, skill development, and the economic empowerment of the province’s youth.
