Chaudhry Parvez Elahi took oath as the Chief Minister of Punjab in the President’s House.
President Dr. Arif Alvi administered the oath to Parvez Elahi at the President’s House in Islamabad.
Fawad Chaudhary, Pervaiz Khattak, Monis Elahi and others participated in the swearing-in ceremony.
Chaudhry Parvez Elahi had arrived in Islamabad from Lahore by a special plane for taking the oath.
Earlier, after the decision of the Supreme Court, Punjab Governor Muhammad Balighur Rehman had excused Chaudhry Pervez Elahi from taking the oath of the Chief Minister.
PTI Punjab leader Mian Mehmood-ul-Rashid contacted President Dr. Arif Alvi after the refusal of Governor Punjab.
It should be noted that the Supreme Court of Pakistan accepted the request of Chaudhry Pervez Elahi and declared the ruling of Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly Dost Muhammad Mazari null and void in the election of the Chief Minister of Punjab while declaring Pervez Elahi as the Chief Minister of Punjab.
