Consumers Association of Pakistan – CAP organized Celebration of Independence Day and Food Drive on the occasion of Independence Day with Sindh Boy Scouts Association, Abdani Foundation School, Metro Pakistan Limited, Nestle Pakistan, Shangrila Foods and Lohowala Logistics Pvt. Ltd.
Special guests included Commissioner Karachi Iftikhar Shalawani, Deputy Inspector General of Police District South Javed Akbar Riaz, Brigadier (R) Malik Waqar Ahmed, Administer, Memon Hospital, Prominent social leader Syed Muhammad Adil, Metro Pakistan Director Imran Farooqi and Akhtar Mir, Secretary, Pakistan Boy Scouts, Kaukab Iqbal, Chairman Consumers Association of Pakistan and Abdul Majeed Abdani, Senior Vice Chairman, Consumers Association of Pakistan.
Kaukab Iqbal, Chairman Consumers Association of Pakistan, said that while celebrating Independence Day, we have to work for our beloved country. Citizens are participating in the tree planting campaign on the Instructions of the Prime Minister Imran Khan. The Consumer Association of Pakistan started the tree planting campaign two years ago and now it is being taken further. It should not be forgotten that those who lost their jobs due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The Consumers Association of Pakistan has organized a Celebration of Independence Day and food drive on the occasion of Independence Day to support families who are still struggling due to unemployment.
A contingent of Sindh Boy Scouts Association presented Guard of Honor to the Special Guest Commissioner Karachi Iftikhar Shalawani. Iftikhar Shalawani said that what is special about this is that the people present at the event seem to be following the SOP’s given by the government. It is better to organize a food drive for the victim’s families on the occasion of Independence Day. I would like to thank Kaukab Iqbal and his team and especially Metro Pakistan, Nestle Pakistan Shangrila Foods for their cooperation and hope that these companies will continue to serve in the same way.
On the occasion of the arrival of the guest of honor Deputy Inspector General of Police District South Javed Akbar Riaz, a contingent of scouts also presented a guard of honor. DIG Javed Akbar Riaz said that the Sindh police have rendered their best services during the Coronavirus. Hundreds of people including many police officers and youths have lost their lives due to Corona. We must also remember their services. DIG Javed Akbar Riaz also lauded the services rendered by the Consumers Association of Pakistan for the consumers.
Brigadier (R) Malik Waqar Ahmed, Administer, Memon Hospital, said that it was a success of Celebration of Independence Day and food drive Camp that a food drive has been organized for the families infected with coronavirus.
Prominent social leader Syed Muhammad Adil said that he was very happy to come to the Independence Day and Food Drive celebrations. The services of Kaukab Iqbal and Abdul Majeed Abdani, Senior Vice Chairman, Consumers Association of Pakistan are very important for the country. The spirit with which they give their services to the customers is commendable.
Abdul Majeed Abdani, Senior Vice Chairman, Consumers Association of Pakistan, said that the event was organized in just two days as schools are still closed due to Coronavirus, but the teachers and staff, despite their full cooperation, decorated it with colors. The children enthusiastically presented the tableau in love with Pakistan. In Sha Allah, next year a big event will be organized with great care and every year a food drive will also be organized by CAP.
Guest of Honorary Director Metro Pakistan Imran Farooqi said that the Consumers Association of Pakistan organized a food drive on the occasion of Independence Day. This is a unique start. Metro Pakistan will always continue its cooperation in this regard and we will work together.
Secretary of Pakistan Boy Scouts Akhtar Mir said that the services of Scouts are appreciated all over the world including Pakistan. The Pakistan Boy Scouts are also present in this event. The first time in Pakistan, no photo session was held while giving food gifts so as not to hurt the feelings and ego of the people.
At the end of the ceremony, Syed Turab Ali Shah also received an honorary shield from Commissioner Karachi while a food drive was also organized with the best discipline.
