Turin – Carrefour has made a significant donation of over €9,000 to Casa UGI, a residence for children and adolescents undergoing oncological treatment and their families. The donation will be used to purchase 63 beds, including 42 kangaroo beds and 21 single beds (including 3 orthopedic beds), to support families of young patients residing outside the city and undergoing treatment at the Regina Margherita Hospital in Turin.
The donation was the result of a successful fundraising campaign, “La Nanna di Ugino,” conducted in collaboration with UGI, the Italian Parents’ Union against children’s cancer. The campaign, which ran from January 15th to the end of February, allowed consumers to make free donations directly at the checkout in local Carrefour stores.
Michele Stefanoni, Director of hypermarkets, direct supermarkets, and Cash&Carry at Carrefour Italia, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to the community and thanked Casa UGI for involving Carrefour in this important initiative. The donation demonstrates Carrefour’s commitment to making a positive impact on the communities it serves.
Massimo Mondini, Executive Director of UGI, also expressed gratitude for Carrefour’s support, noting that the donation will significantly benefit the guests of Casa UGI. The donation reflects Carrefour’s commitment to supporting families and children facing challenging circumstances.
