Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari referred to Storm Noah (a huge flood that occurred during the time of Noah) to describe the flood situation and devastation in Pakistan .
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari while addressing the Council of Foreign Affairs in New York said that in the storm Noah rained for 40 days and 40 nights, the rains in Pakistan from the middle of June continued till the end of August.
The foreign minister said that when the rains stopped, a hundred-kilometer lake had come into being in the middle of Pakistan.
He said that one out of every seven people in Pakistan was affected by floods. The number of flood victims is equivalent to 95% of Canada’s population.
Bilawal Bhutto further said that 4 million acres of crops were destroyed due to floods, there is fear that after two months wheat will not even be sown, we want climate justice for our people.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that Pakistan’s share in carbon emission is 0.8%, I will talk about justice not aid for our people.
