Tando Muhammad Khan Sindh : After the tragedy of Karbala, the land of Arabia became so constrained for the family of the Prophet (PBUH) that they were compelled to migrate to different countries. Many historians have recorded in their works that most of the caravans of the Prophet’s (PBUH) family migrated to Sindh. The first caravan to reach Sindh, led by Lady Ruqayyah bint Ali (A.S.), daughter of Hazrat Ali ibn Abi Talib (A.S.), arrived 4 or 5 years after the tragedy of Karbala, around 65 or 66 AH. She was referred to as “Bibi Pak Daman” on the land of Sindh. These thoughts were shared by the renowned researcher and author Zawar Abdul Sattar Dars while addressing the event organized in honor of Lady Khadija, Bibi Maham (S.A.), at the shrine of Bibi Badshah Zadi Shamsi Tabrizi in Tando Muhammad Khan by the Dargah Committee of Masooma Sindh.
He further said that after the arrival of this first caravan of the Prophet’s family (PBUH) in 65 AH, the influx of Sayyid caravans continued for a long time. Historically, it is documented that around 145 AH, Syed Abdullah Shah Ashtar, a great-grandson of Imam Hasan al-Mujtaba (A.S.), also arrived in Sindh, where he was martyred by an army that had come from Arabia. After his martyrdom, he became known as Syed Abdullah Shah Ghazi. Around the same period, Lady Khadija Maham (A.S.), daughter of Imam Musa Kazim (A.S.), also arrived in Sindh as part of the same migration from Arabia. She made her home in the historic city of Agham Kot in Badin district, where her shrine is now a place of pilgrimage.
Zawar Dars emphasized that it is our duty to continue efforts to reveal and preserve these sacred places where the pure and noble personalities of the Prophet’s family (PBUH) made their homes. This is in accordance with the command of love and devotion given to us in the Holy Quran by the Creator of the Universe.
Speakers at the event included Syed Fatah Ali Shah Shamsi, Khawaja Liaquat Ali Jafri, Zawar Niaz Hussain Laghari, Qazi Riaz Haider, Maulana Ghulam Hussain Laghari, Syed Ghulam Rasool Shah Shamsi, Muhammad Jaman Soomro, Muhammad Yousuf Khatri, Sultana Zardari, Aini Soomro, and others. During the event, Syed Mehrban Ali Shamsi also launched Zawar Abdul Sattar Dars’ book on the history of elegies. At the end of the ceremony, Syed Mehrban Ali Shamsi led a special prayer in his unique style. Gifts of traditional Sindhi Ajraks were presented to all the guests.
