Barry Keoghan Opens Up About Skin Treatment After Online Abuse Over Appearance

Barry Keoghan discusses his skin-tightening treatment after facing online abuse over his appearance.
Actor Barry Keoghan has revealed that he is undergoing a skin-tightening treatment after facing online abuse over his appearance. He says the procedure has helped him feel better about himself.
The Saltburn star, 34, shared his experience with XERF, a non-invasive cosmetic treatment that uses radiofrequency technology. The procedure aims to tighten skin and stimulate collagen production.
According to the report, the treatment does not require needles or topical numbing.
Actor Shares Treatment Experience
In a video posted on October 23 by Nilam Holmes, owner of Dermaspa, Keoghan spoke positively about the procedure and the care he receives during his visits.
“I feel better about myself,” he said. “I look better. I think it’s important to look after yourself inside and outside.”

The footage showed Keoghan lying on a treatment table while Holmes used a device on his cheeks, nose and jawline.
Holmes said she had worked with the actor for some time. She has helped care for his skin during film productions, campaigns and other projects. She also confirmed that the recorded session was his second XERF treatment.
Online Abuse Affected His Confidence
Keoghan’s disclosure comes months after he spoke about the emotional impact of online criticism. During a March appearance on SiriusXM’s The Morning Mash Up, he said hurtful comments about his looks had affected his confidence.
“There’s a lot of abuse of how I look,” he said.
The actor explained that the criticism had led him to withdraw from public life. He also became reluctant to attend events and go outside.
Keoghan deactivated his Instagram account in 2024. He later acknowledged that he sometimes still checks online reactions to his public appearances, even though the comments can upset him.
Upcoming Film Projects
Despite the online criticism, Keoghan continues to work on major film projects. His upcoming roles include an appearance in Matt Reeves’ The Batman: Part II.
He is also set to portray Beatles drummer Ringo Starr in Sam Mendes’ upcoming films about the band. The projects will feature Harris Dickinson, Paul Mescal and Joseph Quinn in other roles.
Keoghan’s comments have brought renewed attention to the impact online abuse can have on public figures and their confidence.
