Karachi: Amidst much excitement, the 3rd Nigaah Art Awards commenced on January 20, 2024.
The event welcomed distinguished guests, with Mr. Ahmad Shah, President of the Arts Council
of Pakistan and Caretaker Minister for Information, Minorities Affairs, and the Social Protection
Department in the Government of Sindh, serving as the chief guest.
During his welcome address, Mr. Tauqeer Muhajir, the Editor and Publisher of Nigaah Art
Magazine, emphasized the significance of these art awards. The event featured various
segments, including a discussion on ‘pioneering advancements in the development of art in
Pakistan’ by Mr. Ahmad Shah and Ms. Nasira Zuberi, a renowned poet and author of Shagoon.
Other highlights included performances by the PNCA troupe, live painting by experienced artist
Farrukh Shahab, a live auction whose proceeds will benefit art school scholarships in Karachi
and poetry recital by Anwar Shaoor.
Bank Alfalah served as the primary sponsor for the Nigaah Art Awards 2024, with additional
support from sponsors such as Pakistan Mercantile Exchange, Rotary Pakistan, Zulfiqar and
Fatima Foundation, and Fly Jinnah acted as the official travel partner, while Business Recorder
and Aaj News were the media partners.

The prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to artist Mashkoor Raza, Mr Adil
Salahuddin and Ms. Meher Afroz.
The next Nigaah Art Awards is scheduled to take place in the beginning of 2025.
