Sehwan Sharif: The co-founded of American Muslim & Multifaith Women’s Empowerment Council (AMMWEC) Anila Ali visited Lal Shahbaz Qalander Mazar at Sehwan Sharif, Sindh.
Anila Ali said Sindh is the land of the Indus Valley Civilization. Our rich cultural heritage dates back century’s Sufi Saint Hazrat Sayyid Usman Marwandi came to Sindh from Iraq.
Anila said, with his conduct and message of peace, people of other religions converted to Islam freely but his message was one of inclusion and tolerance. There were no forced conversions; his was a message of love and co-existence; his role model was the Prophet of Islam PBUH.
Further Anila said, his contemporary was Maulana Jelaluddin Rumi and he lived at the time of 3 other Sufis in Sindh, Hazrat Abdullah Shah Ghazi being one of them. Pakistan is blessed to have their presence and so we must remind ourselves of our own heritage.
In the end, Anila said, we must be proud and embrace all our communities and show the Islam of our Prophet. Respect for women, seniors, children, inclusion for minorities, and equality for all, rich living with responsibility & compassion and Poor living with dignity.
