Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson, who is known as Katy Perry is an American singer, songwriter and a television judge. She was born on October 25, 1984 in Santa Barbara, California, U.S. She is the daughter of Keith Hudson and Mary Perry. She is having Angela Hudson and David Hudson as her siblings.
She was married to Russell Brand in 2010 and was divorced in 2012. In 2016 she was engaged to Orlando Jonathan Blanchard Copeland Bloom who is known as Orlando bloom and is an English actor. She also has a daughter named Daisy Dove Bloom.
She is one of the world’s best selling music artists sold over 143 million records worldwide. Katy Perry has been included in the annual Forbes lists of highest-earning women in music from 2011 to 2019. She received various awards; four Guinness World Records, five Billboard Music Awards, five American Music Awards, A Brit Award and a Juno Award. Her show performance “Super Bowl Halftime” is the most watched in the history. She also released an autobiography other than music in 2012 named Katy Perry : Part of Me. She also appeared as a judge in American Idol in 2018.
This was not so easy, she get ignored, dropped, she struggled a lot. She released her debut studio album Katy Hudson in 2001 which was unsuccessful. She then moved to Los Angeles to proceed into secular music and adopted the stage namely “Katy Perry”. She started working with producers Glen Ballard, Dr. Luke and Max Martin on an album that remained unreleased. Then after being dropped by The Island Def Jam Music Group and Columbia Records, she signed a recording contract with Capitol Records in April 2007.
She got fame in 2008 from her second album “One of the Boys”. This album was a pop rock record and was containing her controversial debut single “I Kissed a Girl” and the song “Hot n Cold“. It reached number one and three on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.
