PAKISTAN: United Nations International Human Rights Day. The principles of equality and non-discrimination are at the heart of human rights. To have a peaceful nation, we need to respect every human right. Let us pledge to respect and protect the human rights of all and reduce inequalities in society. Warm greetings and best wishes to everyone on World Human Rights Day. We continue to defend and celebrate human rights and strive for a better society. This day reminds us of our power to stop any injustice or abuse.

In his special message on World Human Rights Day, Ambassador at Large for Global Peace & Human Rights Imam Allama Muhammad Ahsan Siddiqui, Chairman, Interfaith Commission for Peace & Harmony (ICPH) said that December 10 is celebrated all over the world and on December 10, 1948 the United Nations adopted this day for human rights. This year’s theme is Dignity, Freedom, and Justice for All. Human rights apply to everyone, no matter our race, belief, location or other distinction. They are universal, eternal and indivisible. One cannot pick and choose among civil, political, religious, economic, social and cultural rights.

Human beings are born free and have the power to express themselves willingly. The right to freedom of religion or belief is a fundamental right of every human being. Human rights are every human being’s entitlement by virtue of his humanity. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was one of the pioneers of human rights. He said that there is no difference in human race and all human beings are equal for all. Rights are equal. The Last sermon of the holy Prophet (PBUH) is not only noticeable for its eloquence but it contains an eye opening message for the whole of the human race.

The world has not been able to establish better principles of ethics and morality than those enunciated in it. Every word of it breathes a spirit of brotherhood and humankind – irrespective of the divergences of their geographical, racial and colour backgrounds and provides a figure, outline of a social order, free from injustice and oppression – guaranteeing the Basic Human Rights and Needs for a truly free and peacefully progressive society. The last sermon of the holy Prophet (PBUH) is a big remarkable document in human history in the perspective of Human Rights. We recognise the inherent dignity of all people and the importance of promoting human rights.

There can be no peace without development, no development without peace, and no lasting peace or sustainable development without respect for human rights and the rule of law. Every person should be treated with respect, dignity and equality that mean Human Rights. Give to every human being every right that you claim for yourself. True humanity lies in spreading love and rising by lifting others. With emphasis to the rights of each person, let us be reminded that it is our duty to stand together for a humane world and to oppose the oppressors.

Reiterates Interfaith Commission for Peace & Harmony and Albaraka Welfare Trust International commitment to promotion and protection of human rights and freedom of all people as per Universal declarations Human Rights (UDHR). The Interfaith Commission for Peace & Harmony (ICPH urges all to join hands to establish an equal, inclusive, peaceful and prosperous) world.

We solidarity to all who have been continuing hard fights for justice and claiming their rights! Mark the human rights day to educate, empower, mobilize people and build a stronger alliance for a cause to make a world better to live. We stand with everyone whose human rights have been infringed. Let’s pledge to rebuild a better compassionate world. Let us pledge to stand against the regressive mindset that discriminates people, and treat everyone with dignity.
