An elegant fundraising lunch was hosted by Jordanian-American businessman and CEO of Optima Global Financial Mr. Ahmad Alyasin to honor and support new Houston Police Department Chief Troy Finner in the presence of Commander Yasar Bashir, President/CEO Universal Surgical Partners, and Patient Benefit Foundation Dr. Mubashir Chaudhry. A number of officers and policemen in the city are present. The event was attended by many honorable Judges, with the participation of ambassadors, diplomats, businessmen, consuls, and leaders of the Arab community in Houston, Texas, and many distinguished guests. Guests enjoyed a lavish Lunch and supported the efforts of Police Department officials.
Mr. Ahmad Alyasin head of the American Jordanian Association congratulated our new HPD chief, Troy Finner, and called for unity amongst our community, and encouraged the younger generation to participate and take lead in the community.

Troy Finner was born in the Fifth Ward and raised in Houston’s Hiram Clarke area. In 1985, He graduated from Madison High School. He also earned a bachelor of science in criminal justice from Sam Houston State and went on to obtain his master’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Houston Clear Lake.
A 31-year-old Troy Finner married Sharon and they have five children, all grown but the youngest – Wyatt, age 10. In 1990, Finner joined the Houston Police Department. As the new police chief, he will take over the leadership of more than 5,200 sworn officers as well as more than 870 civilian personnel.
