Showbiz Desk: The Sarees worn by the late Bollywood superstar Sridevi in ??the film “English Vinglish” have been announced to be auctioned on the occasion of the film’s 10th Anniversary.
The film “English Vinglish” directed by Gauri Shinde was released on October 5, 2012, and completed 10 years.
A box-office hit and multiple awards, the film featured known actors Adil Hussain, Mehdi Nebbou, and Priya Anand opposite the late Sridevi, while the film was Sridevi’s comeback to Bollywood after 15 years.
In an interview Director, Gauri Shinde said “We are doing a celebration of ten years of English Vinglish, so we are doing a screening in Andheri on October 10.”
We will do a screening, get people in, have a conversation about the film, that’s tentatively the plan, and pay tribute to the Late Sridevi, added Gauri Shinda.
Further, she said we are also going to auction Sridevi sarees, which I had very safely kept till now.
Meanwhile, English Vinglish focuses on the life of a homemaker lady, who is not fluent in English. She secretly enrolls herself in an English class to fight her insecurities.
Sridevi was one the most prominent actors in the Bollywood industry, having a huge fan base. She last appeared in the films Puli and Mom. She was found dead in a hotel in Dubai on February 2018.
