Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has said that the country has only one day’s supply of petrol and the economy is in a dangerous situation.
Addressing the nation, Ranil Wickremesinghe said that more difficulties may be faced in the coming months.
The Sri Lankan Prime Minister said that ????? 75 million was urgently needed for the necessary imports.
He also said that there was a shortage of 14 essential medicines in the country, urgent payments for medicines were required and money was to be printed for payment of government salaries and essential items.
Ranil Wickremesinghe said there was a proposal to privatize SriLankan Airlines.
He warned the nation that the next few months would be the most difficult and the nation would have to prepare itself to make sacrifices and meet the challenges.
