KARACHI – President of Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) Saleem-uz-Zaman said that KATI has played its role in highlighting industrial issues as well as public issues. We will continue every possible cooperation for the success of the DC Korangi Arfan Salam Mirwani.
This was stated by KATI President Saleem-uz-Zaman while welcoming the newly appointed Deputy Commissioner in District Korangi, Irfan Salam Mirwani on assuming his responsibilities and apprised him of the role of Korangi Industrial Area in the national economy.
He said that with the best coordination between DC Korangi and KATI, Korangi Industrial Area would be made the best industrial zone. Under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Korangi, KATI has played an important role in the Polio Workers Campaign and other welfare works.
Talking to the industrialists, Deputy Commissioner Korangi Arfan Salam Mirwani said that the problems of the business community would be solved on priority basis, adding that the business community has always played a leading role for the development and prosperity of Pakistan.
He welcomed the suggestions made by the members of Kati for the construction and development of the city and said that the pace of development work in the district would be further accelerated so that the people could soon benefit from the welfare schemes.
DC Korangi Arfan Salam Mirwani said that a strategy would be formulated for the solutions in phases of the problems identified by the industrialists.
He further said that in consultation and cooperation with the industrialist and business community, SOPs would be implemented during the ongoing Corona pandemic in the country and steps would be taken to promote economic and trade activities to keep the industrial wheel running. ?
Zubair Chhaya, Chairman/CEO KITE Limited said that industrialization is an important need of this country. Without industrial development, neither the economy can be strong nor can the country develop. Paying homage to former Deputy Commissioner Korangi Sheharyar Gul Memon, he said that it was a great achievement for him to have a negative polio pattern in Korangi during the last few months and in this regard he was very positive towards making Korangi ‘polio free’. There is progress, which must be acknowledged at every level. Shehryar Gul Memon’s continuous hard work and efforts are commendable.
It was agreed that a committee headed by DC Korangi in Korangi Industrial Area would be set up soon to identify the problems and address them through timely steps.
