PAKISTAN Each year on October 14, the international community celebrates United Nations (UN) Day to mark the anniversary of the entry into force in 1945 of the UN Charter. The United Nations was founded 75 years ago on the basis of global solidarity and collaboration, to build a better world.
As the world fights the COVID pandemic, as we face the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, that spirit of cooperation, collaboration and communication amongst nations is needed more than ever. In a year like no others, this celebration wants to pay tribute to all of the victims of the pandemic, to express our deep solidarity with their families, and our support for all those who are on the frontline in the fight against the virus.
We wish the UN for 75 years of service promoting world peace, global security and human rights. We see the United Nations as a beacon of hope that is the exemplar of human cooperation and understanding. The United Nations provides food for millions in over 80 countries around the world, vaccinates more than 50% of the world’s children, assists millions of refugees fleeing from war and famine, combats climate change, maintains peace across continents, promotes and protects human rights in various regions around the world, and through treaties, and much more.
It is true that making peace should be the substantial agenda. It is the time to join hands, because anybody’s lose is everyone’s loss. We have to win together. You are not perfect, but it’s hard to imagine what the world would have been like without you. Thank you UN for 75 years of service promoting world peace, global security and human rights. ICPH will continue to champion the ideals, the principles, and the purposes of the UN. We can see the importance of global collaboration and solidarity across borders. We’re honoured lobe a part of this event on the role of communities of faith in reaching the Global Goals. We need to work together to save the multilateral. There is no perfect solution, but when religions work together well, this is the murk of how religions can support humanity. We are in a moment where we need multi-religious 8 multi-stakeholder approaches. We have one earth and one future for all of us. We need to work together to achieve Agenda 2030.
