TDAP Lahore hosts an AI readiness session focused on cybersecurity and information security.

The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) is strengthening its officers’ understanding of artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity and responsible data use. As institutions adopt emerging technologies, they need the skills and safeguards to use them effectively and securely.

As part of this effort, TDAP Lahore hosted an interactive training session led by Faizan Sarwar, Director of Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) at Evoionos LLC. The session focused on the Pakistan Information Security Framework (PISF), cybersecurity and the responsible use of AI.

Training Focuses on AI and Information Security

During the session, Sarwar shared insights from his experience in cybersecurity, information security frameworks, governance, risk and compliance. He discussed ways to protect institutional data, manage emerging threats and address security challenges linked to AI adoption.

Furthermore, the interactive format gave TDAP officers an opportunity to explore practical applications of emerging technologies. Participants considered how AI could support everyday tasks while maintaining strong information security and responsible data practices.

Preparing Officers for Responsible AI Adoption

For TDAP, AI readiness goes beyond understanding new technology. It also means equipping employees to use digital tools effectively, improve efficiency and make better-informed decisions.

However, organisations must balance these benefits with appropriate security measures and responsible data management. Therefore, cybersecurity awareness and staff training remain important as institutions expand their use of AI.

TDAP thanked Faizan Sarwar for sharing his expertise and contributing to the learning initiative. The session forms part of the authority’s broader effort to strengthen institutional capacity and prepare its workforce for an increasingly digital environment.
