Meghan Duchess of Sussex could make acting comeback after UK move

Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, could reportedly return to acting after moving back to the UK.

LONDON: Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, could return to acting after moving back to the UK with Prince Harry and their children, according to reports.

Sources close to the Sussexes have not denied reports that Meghan has been offered an acting role in Britain. However, neither the project nor the nature of the reported role has been officially confirmed.

Australian outlet news.com.au first reported that an acting opportunity could be one factor behind the couple’s decision to return to the UK.

The Sussexes are expected to relocate to a private residence outside London before the end of August. Their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, are expected to begin school in September.

Meghan’s Acting Career Began With Suits

Meghan became internationally known for playing lawyer Rachel Zane in the US legal drama Suits.

She appeared in the series for seven seasons before leaving the show. Her final episode aired in 2018.

The Duchess stepped away from acting after marrying Prince Harry.

At the time, she told the BBC that she saw the decision not as giving something up but as entering a new chapter of her life.

Her possible return would therefore mark a significant change after several years away from scripted acting.

Duchess Makes First Acting Appearance in Years

Meghan has already made a small return to the screen.

She recently appeared as herself in the upcoming comedy Close Personal Friends. The film features Lily Collins and Brie Larson among its cast.

The appearance represents her first acting-related role in almost a decade.

A larger project in the UK could now potentially mark a more substantial return to the profession.

However, there is currently no official confirmation about the reported offer or whether Meghan has accepted a role.

Sussexes Prepare for Life Back in Britain

Prince Harry and Meghan are planning to move from the United States to a private, non-royal home outside London.

Their children are also expected to attend school in the UK from September.

The move follows a visit by the Sussex family to see King Charles III at Highgrove in Gloucestershire in July.

It was the first time the King had met his grandchildren in person for more than four years.

The visit also marked Harry and Meghan’s first trip to the UK together since 2022.

According to reports, the King was not aware of the couple’s plans to relocate before the move became known. However, he is understood to welcome the prospect of spending more private time with his grandchildren.

No Plans to Return as Working Royals

Despite the move, there are no current plans for Harry or Meghan to resume their former roles as working members of the Royal Family.

Instead, the couple are expected to maintain their independent projects.

Meghan is also reportedly looking to expand the international reach of As Ever, her US-based lifestyle and cooking brand.

A return to acting could provide another major professional opportunity for the Duchess as she rebuilds her career in the UK.

For now, however, details of any potential acting project remain unconfirmed.
