Roof Collapse claimed the life of a child and injured at least four other people after the roof of an under-construction house collapsed in Lahore’s Baghbanpura area on Thursday, rescue officials said.
According to Rescue 1122, the roof of the third floor of the under-construction building suddenly gave way, trapping several people beneath the rubble. A child died in the incident, while four injured victims received first aid before rescuers shifted them to Services Hospital for treatment.
Rescue officials said one person remained trapped under the debris as emergency teams continued search and rescue operations at the site.

Rescue 1122 deployed seven emergency vehicles and 25 rescue personnel to clear the rubble and search for survivors.
The latest incident comes just two days after another deadly roof collapse at a tuition centre in Lahore’s Kahna area, where 14 children lost their lives when part of the building collapsed.
Hundreds of mourners attended the funeral prayers for the victims on Wednesday before the children, most of whom were between four and 12 years old, were laid to rest.
Roof and building collapses remain a recurring problem in Pakistan, where weak enforcement of construction regulations, poor safety standards and the use of substandard building materials continue to contribute to fatal accidents.
