The left-arm fast bowler reached the landmark on the fourth day of the Test after dismissing Bangladeshi batter Mominul Haque.
With this achievement, Shaheen Afridi became the fifth Pakistani fast bowler to take 400 international wickets across all formats of the game.
Before him, legendary pacers Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Imran Khan, Shoaib Akhtar, and Umar Gul had previously achieved the milestone.
Overall, Shaheen became the ninth Pakistani bowler to reach the 400-wicket mark in international cricket.
Three Pakistani spin bowlers — Shahid Afridi, Saqlain Mushtaq, and Saeed Ajmal — are also among the players who accomplished the feat.
The 25-year-old pacer achieved the milestone in his 211th international appearance, further strengthening his position as one of Pakistan’s leading fast bowlers in modern cricket.
Shaheen Afridi is also ranked among Pakistan’s top wicket-takers across all formats and currently stands ninth on the country’s all-time international wickets list.
Cricket analysts and fans praised the star pacer for his consistency, pace, and match-winning performances, particularly in Test cricket and ICC tournaments.
