Houston TEX USA : Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, emphasized the crucial role of Pakistani American organizations in promoting trade and investment opportunities between Pakistan and the U.S. during a meeting with Muhammad Saeed Sheikh, President of the Karachi-Houston Sister City Association (HKSCA) in Washington D.C.
Speaking with Mr. Sheikh, a prominent Business Leader and recognized volunteer in Houston, Ambassador Sheikh noted that the Pakistani American community is not only strengthening Pakistan-U.S. relations but also contributing significantly to Pakistan’s development, especially in light of the challenges posed by recent calamities. He further stressed that enhancing trade ties could play a pivotal role in addressing Pakistan’s current economic challenges. Ambassador Sheikh assured Mr. Sheikh of his full cooperation in achieving this important task.
Muhammad Saeed Sheikh, who has been actively involved in trade and humanitarian activities for over 40 years, briefed the Ambassador on various successful trade-related initiatives. He also presented detailed reports on the development projects he has led, including the 2022 Pakistan Flood Relief efforts, which raised two million dollars in humanitarian aid for flood victims. This effort, conducted in collaboration with 40 organizations such as Helping Hand and the Alliance for Disaster Relief, provided relief to over 65,000 flood victims through the delivery of containers filled with medical supplies and equipment. Additionally, Mr. Sheikh updated the Ambassador on ongoing HKSCA projects, which include the establishment of RO water filtration plants, the planting of over 10,000 trees across Pakistan, and the launch of a student scholarship program. Ambassador Rizwan Saeed Sheikh commended Mr. Sheikh’s dedication to trade and humanitarian efforts, acknowledging the significant impact of his initiatives.
