Karachi – Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI) District 3271 successfully conducted its Part III training session on November 19, 2023, bringing together participants from various Rotary clubs within the district. The event, held under the patronage of Past District Governor M. Iqbal Qureshi, Chair RLI Past President Atiqua Vally, and Secretary RLI Waqar Ahmed Shaikh, ably supported by Assistant Rotary Public Image Coordinator (ARPIC), Zone 1B, Syed Kashif Rafi and Past President, Syed Sagheer Ahmed.
The training featured courses aligned with the latest RLI curriculum, emphasizing the institute’s unique approach to interactive and discussion-based learning and training.
Distinguished guests at this year’s RLI included Past Rotary International President Ravi Ravindran, Rotary International Directors Raju Subramaniam, & Muhammad Faiz Kidwai AND Chair International Polio Plus Committee & RLI International Chair Michael K. McGovern. These esteemed Rotarians shared invaluable insights and experiences, providing encouragement to the participants.
McGovern, in his address, highlighted the ongoing efforts of the local government and Rotary Pakistan in polio eradication. He underscored the significance of Rotary training and commended Rotary International Director and PDG Iqbal Qureshi for conducting grassroot-level training.
PRIP Ravi Ravindran also recognized Rotary Pakistan’s efforts in polio eradication and praised the continuous training initiatives led by RLI Pakistan.
RID Raju Subramaniam expressed appreciation for the dedication of the RLI Team and participants in their efforts to impart and receive knowledge.
RID Faiz emphasized the importance of sustainable projects for economic and community development, touching upon Rotary Pakistan Smart Villages.
All sessions were highly interactive, with well-versed facilitators, including PDG Iqbal Qureshi, PDG Ovais Kohari, PDG Dr. Aftab Imam, RLI Chair PP Atiqua Vally, and ARPIC PP Syed Kashif Rafi, leading engaging discussions. Participants were encouraged to step out of their comfort zones, fostering networking and fellowship—an integral aspect of Rotary aimed at steering them towards tangible service projects.
The success of the program can be attributed to the collaborative efforts of the participants, faculty, and the organizing committee. The commitment and expertise of the facilitators further enriched the learning experience, ensuring the program’s overall success.
